I love this topic. People talk about benchmarking, about performance measurement, they also talk about data management and how to use predictive analytics.

TBL is that whatever type of data is used, as long as accurate, and whatever data analyzer is used to validate that data set. Then if used wisely you can interpret to help to make better decision making.

The challenge I frequently encounter is folks asking for data without first defining what question they wish to have answered.

Once you define, refine & crystallize that, it can help to focus efforts on identifying the minimum data set required to answer it...
