I remember reading somewhere that the average time it takes people to fall asleep is 7 minutes. I think I am right around that average usually.
7 minutes? wow. Try 2 hours for me, then light sleep for the next 3-4 hours, then get up. That's the story of my life. But then again, my philosophy is why sleep a third of your life? By the time we shuffle on, I may have lived (awake) many more years than most even if I drop earlier. Oh we are a morbid collection of atoms lol.

Sante - that is called insomnia. Lack of sleep can take a toll on your health. If you are having trouble turning your brain off, try meditation.
Imagine how much clearer you may think and better you may feel if you actually get a proper amount of sleep.
And how much less coffee you would need to drink. Hmmm. That's right, you are in Melbourne, the coffee Mecca. Maybe that is why you have trouble falling asleep. Too much coffee.

Yeah, take care of yourself, Sante. That sounds unhealthy. Please work on that. It will catch up with you.

Just coffee in the morning, not the 20 a day I use to have 20 years ago. Some Neuro told me 20 years ago that some brains just gind it hard to switch off, I've tried everything, meditation, sleep schedules, medication, nothing works, so it is part of the reason I keep doing academic degrees as I have nothing else to do at night (other than youtube).

I do think about reports and stakeholders etc, but It's very rare and only if the project is very complex.
If I didn't find a solution to a problem, usually I get good ideas during my sleep which will be very helpful.
