Sorry if this is too late, I don’t get this far down the discussion list very often.
Whenever I’ve exported from MS Project into Visio, I’ve always used the WBS Chart Wizard and whenever I’ve imported into Visio, I’ve used the Import Project Data Wizard.
In both these cases it’s either to re-create the Project WBS or a simplified view of the Project Timeline, so I’m intrigued as to why you’re trying to create a flowchart based on the schedule.
I’m not suggesting what you’re doing is wrong, after all there are many ways to skin a cat, but it seems very work intensive. Can’t you use the Network Diagram View in MS Project instead?
You may be able to get more help from the guys on this site. There are categories for Visio and MS Project.
Just out of interest, when you talk about flowcharts, do you mean a simple flowchart that is linear and represents logical flow or a swimlane that’s cross-functional, with each lane representing a different resource/product?
