I am in the process of setting up a programme office and I have been asked how many staff I will need. I know this is one of those how long is a piece of string type questions but do you have any metrics for working out the number of dedicated staff a PMO needs based on project volumes or number of PM's under its control? I dont want to include PM's or programme managers in the numbers just the core people to do the day to day work of the programme office, compiling reports , creating and maintaining the company methodology etc etc .
I want to be able to show how big the department needs to be and show that what I am asking for is inline with industry standards.

the company size of my APAC account is around 200-300 staffs, and we have got 4 PMO to serve the acoount. I think 4 resources are more than enuf already. Saving Changes...
