I have an AA in Liberal Arts Business and am restarting my Undergraduate Degree soon in BS IT Management. I have always worked in retail and now have about 5 years of Inventory Analyst experience. I would like to know how I can become a Project Manager? Is my education and experience relevant to PM?
Please advise.

To become a Certified PM you have to meet the eligibility criteria with regards to education and experience, please refer in www.pmi.org for details. You also have to complete 35 contact hours of preparation for PMP exam. Finally, once you are ready, you have to fill the application form, pay the examination fee and schedule the exam. You also have to clear the examination to receive your certificate. It does seem like a lot of work, but it is worth the effort !
There are multiple certifications awarded by PMI as per the criteria you fulfill. Refer the PMI website for detailed information.

Hi Ria,
The good tips for PMP certified are:
1) Read PMP exam outline & exam handbook from PMI website very well to understand the structural of exam;
2) Read last version of PMBOK as per 2018 exam changes instructions from PMI website, and focus on ITTOs';
3) Read PMP rita book for understanding' and
4) practice a lot of questions form PMSTUDY, PMPRECAST & Udemy.
Good luck,,,

There are two different things into your question: One, to get the certification, my recommendation is going to the certificatin web site of the PMI and read/understanding all related documents inside it before to take the decision: outline, handbook, etc (as others recommended above). Second, to perform the project manager role. You do not need a certification. What you need is to take a way (PMI, IPMA, GPM, etc) or a method (PRINCE2) and to act in the role. Saving Changes...
