We are going to model all project management processes in the company (they are many and complex) using the visual modeling tool (eg Sparx).
The main goal - to systemize the procedures, regulations, templates, finding directions to improve processes.
The secondary goal is to select areas for automation.
Do you have such experience?
Will visual modeling help to systemize and improve the processes of project and portfolio management?

We recently went through the same exercise. The visualization was very helpful and we ended up tightening up a lot of processes this way. The primary tool we used was Lucidchart.

On a daily basis, I am creating visuals over outlines...it is just the way I work. Everything starts out as mindmap. I'm currently using MindNode. From there I can transfer it to something more formal (i.e. SOW, WBS, or project plan) or let it reside in MindNode to reference later.
