The difference between the AGILE and SCRUM methodologies. I am not too clear. Can someone help illustrate in practice?

I testify with Kevin that Kiron and Mansour gave solid foundation to start with and Andrew assured phlegmatic benefits of using this website as many will jump in to help and guide.

Scrum is not a methodology. Is a framework, something where you will not find "the how". If you go to scrumguide.org and you see the Scrum Guide this is explicit defined into it. Agile is a way of thinking an behave, practices or discipline as was formally defined in the place where Agile was born in 1990 trying to find an alternative to Lean. You can apply Agile into any type of initiative (as you can do with Lean for example) if your organization is ready for that.

Excellent responses. Enough information provided. I too learned/educated to a great extent....even after managing projects/operation for last 20 plus years..

Take a look at Scrum Alliance for excellent training.

Think of the difference between a car and a Buick. Not all cars are Buicks, but Buicks are cars. Agile is more of a generic term for lots of different methods or frameworks. Scrum would be more specific. I wrote more about what Agile actually is here: https://agile-mercurial.com/2018/06/27/what-is-agile/
As someone that is starting certifications in Agile, LSS, PMP, and BA shortly this was an excellent article as Agile will be my first class. Even though I have a number of years in the field I have never seen such a concise definition! THX!

A positive review, I'll take it. The other review I got on it said I used "no" and "not" in it too much. I didn't realize until after they said it, they were correct. I have tried to adjust my writing a bit to watch for that.

Agile framework (not a methodology) is the overarching body encompassing several other frameworks such as SCRUM, Iterative, Extreme. etc.
