How lean transformation is driven by automation & new technologies? Do they work together? What are the benefits of lean transformation & digital transformation?

Automation can be the result of Lean initiatives. One reason to automate is that it can improve quality, so it would make sense that it can become a result of Lean efforts.

There is something called Jidoka within Lean. It means Autonomation. Basically, it is automation that is meant to assist humans in error detection. The original concept came from giving the machine the ability to detect errors or quality issues and having it shut the machine down so the issue can be corrected.
