Can you please clarify what do you understand "lean techniques"? If you mean adjusting the methodology to match the project needs and avoid un-necessary overhead I think it's a standard practice. Saving Changes...

Hi George,
absolutely, this question was more about if anyone has either created their pm tools, artefacts, and processes using a lean methedology ... or has anyone refreshed their existing tools, artefacts, and processes using lean methedology techniques. Does that clarify?

Mark,
Are you talking about implementing a Lean within a project or implementing Lean within a project office? I have experience implementing Lean within a project office. One of my many assignments at IBM Global Services was a Lean Change Agent within a project office on a major account.
George,
I disagree and don't think it is a standard practice. Project Offices and project managers have a hard time letting go of tasks that they perform that are considered of no value. Next time you are with a customer ask them when was the last time they ever created a VSM for the project office. Then ask their PMs when was the last time they created a VSM on how they manage their projects. I would be surprised if 10% have ever done this kind of analysis.
