You have a point but it will all depend how it is represented and what algorithm is used. Many believe that the way it us done right now is not fair. Saving Changes...
Transparency is the keyword.
If members find algorithm is clear and fair. They will trust influence score as 'value identifier' ...and that'll drive sizable portion of members to leverage the benefits of their individual score.
Besides that, such dashboard will indicate relative state of member community as whole. Saving Changes...

As Rami said: "..., its all just numbers,...".
Why should I feel better having e.g. a 40 instead of 4? I'm a member to get in contact with other PMs, learn from them, get new ideas and so on.
And, last but not least, to have some variety by discussing trivials like "influence score" with you. ;-) Saving Changes...
Last weekend, I was playing with features to figure out what impacts this score. It could be more than 'just numbers'. It has potential to be used by recruiters to screen prospective candidates ...akin to school GPA or personal finance FICO score. It's good that members are talking about recent changes in their scores. 'Hope that brings some clarity from 'administrators'.
BTW, Manfred - Thanks for participating in this trivials :) Saving Changes...
