I'm wondering about where this method is being applied today. I'm also looking for areas where it was attempted but didn't work out.--- would love to hear those stories. Saving Changes...

Most of the failures I have seen were actually poor implementations.
A few recent users include Siemens in designing big machines, Mazda in developing technology & launching the latest models, and managing one if the largest global SAP implementations in recent years (and saving hundreds of millions in reduced consulting fees). There are hundreds of client case studies claiming significant reductions in duration and cost on the CCPM Software websites.
And there is more to it than just aggregating uncertainty into a buffer.
Ian, can you clarify if the ERP implementation was Mazda or was it a different firm? i'm also interested in hearing more details about what constitutes a "poor implementation?" Sometimes it's helpful to learn from the mistakes of others! Saving Changes...

Here is a list of 120 organizations using Critical Chain: http://www.chaine-critique.com/medias/fich...pm_20180731.pdf Unfortunately the list is in French right now, but it still gives you the names of the companies and the source of the information. We will publish an English version within one month. This list is just those companies that have publicly published RESULTS of using CCPM.
Later this year we will publish a more comprehensive list of over 900 organizations that use Critical Chain worldwide. We are currently going through the validation process of these references.
This is an amazing list! I'm looking forward to seeing the more comprehensive list. Great work here. Bravo! Saving Changes...
We have put online a reference list of some (other 120) of the better documented implementations of Critical Chain Project Management (in English).

I found this interesting. In the Appendix Section 1 of the PMI Pulse of the Profession 2016 report, Critical Chain and Agile are neck and neck in an organizational survey of what methods are used.
But didnt PMI remove CCPM from their latest Pulse?
Not I believe due to logical reasons (like it didnt work), but because someone thinks only a few people used it - despite evidence from their own Pulse results.
Reflects badly on the PMI in my view. The earth would be flat if someone ran a survey and asked people what they thought once upon a time. Vested interests have no intetest in more people using CCPM - books, and BOKs, would need rewriting, training resigning, trainers would need to learn CCPM, and software rewritten.

We are using since 2015 the software Lynx from A-Dato and it works pretty well especially for the combination of CCPM and Agile. We used Concerto before which was judged too rigid.

Frederic, thanks for this A-dato link. I had not heard of them. It's promising to see software providers deliver the powerful combo pattern of CCPM with Agile tactics. Using Agile alone seems like going backwards.
