It is true that project management and leadership are two different things. You can be a manager without being a leader. And you can be a leader without being a manager. For example, after I started working, I started to notice that people kept coming to me for guidance and understanding. I was the "low-man on the totem pole" and these more senior team members were asking me what to do and how to deal with situations in the company. After awhile, I realized that no matter what position I was in, people always saw me as a leader. (Seriously, I am not bragging here, it is just how it has been). So you can exhibit leadership qualities (like emotional intelligence, inspiring trust, flexibility, mentoring, etc.) without being the manager. Now if you are a manager and have these leadership qualities, it is all the better. Saving Changes...
