Hi George, Whenever I perceive a problem I write out this statement: "The problem is ____". Often, just the process of making me write that statement makes me realize that I really haven't captured correctly what the problem is. In a group setting, this process is even more dynamic because there is not always agreement on what the problem is. Until you define the problem(s), you cannot start to solve them or you may be solving the wrong problem.
In a complex situation, you may have layers of problems. Getting to the root cause of a problem or the root causes of a complex problem must come first. In theory, when you find the root cause of the problem, and you fix it, it means the problem does not come back.

In these cases, I try to keep calm and see around the situation. I evaluate some options by myself and then I ask the point of view of people that I guess could help me, I listen carefully and then make my conclusion about how to act or what to do. I always say "thank you". Saving Changes...
