I believe it is a good idea to see the number of people logged in live on this website as many website they show that number when you are live, the privacy can still be intact because it will not show the names just numbers, can any IT expert tell us if that could cost more on the website or slow it down. it is just a small corner showing the current live number of users

Sure - although my worry is that this will become another metric that we (including me) start to obsess over :-)

Riyadh, I don't see the real purpose of getting these metrics. I agree with 1 value add given by Farouq.
Sirikana, I don't think that would make a technical issue, there are many website they receive traffic more than here and yet they are up and speedy, if the server needs to be upgrade then let it be, that's the improvement we like to see implemented on this website to reflect the high standard of our PM status. All depends on the technology of the platform. Should be a relatively simple addition, though still could provide complexities and unnecessary overhead.
It would be a nice to have, but realistically, would offer no real value. What do you see as the value-add Riyadh? Just curios.

Those of us who post and blog can take note of the trends of members' activity. This would help us get more exposure. Say activity peaks at around 1 P.M, then I know it is the best time to publish.

Andrew, good point raised by Farouq also it is good when you know there are big audiencelogged in, so when you post some one will look at it as globally timing is different you might post and some one a sleep.
