How about having few emoticons on this site for "Discussions & Blogs" ?

I like to have at least a few commonly used emoticons.

We have emoticons. You mean emojis I assume : )

But sure, overall I agree it would be more fun if there was a rich text editor with additional options when writing or responding.

Ditto - how did you add the thumbs-up - I don't see any such option in the dialog box or do you have to copy & paste in some arcane hex code :-) ?

That's a slippery slope - while a few emoticons would be useful, where do you draw the line. Perhaps using old school ASCII is the safest bet ;-)

Yes, you are right Kiron. Drawing a line is difficult. Having emoticons in our other collaborative platforms make discussions very expressive. Hence very few like thumbs up, smileys will be good here.

Yes a handful of key emoticons wouldn't hurt.

I'll pass on emoticons. All other platforms are inundated with them, i'd love to have real discussions without conversing in emoticons.(just my opinion)

I am torn here. It sounds like an OK idea, but on the other hand this is not Facebook. I like that the focus is on Project Management with an occasional social comment. I do not want what happened on LinkedIn (less business these days and more social and politics), to happen here.
EmoJIs feels like a movement towards a social network.

Yes, I get your point Dinah. I thought that limited emojis would be good,

I'd prefer no emojis, as I think they'll detract from the professional focus of this site. There's nothing an emoji can express that a few meaningful words can't.
