I think it will be a good addition, and I don't see a risk of people overusing them, to be honest. For me, the argument against emojis is like the one prescriptive grammarians use against splitting infinitives: Don't say "to boldly go where no one has ever gone" and say "to go boldly where no one has ever gone". Long story short: yes make them available, and it is a matter of personal choice how/when members use them -simple design thinking :-) Saving Changes...
