Approach to Requirements Gathering

Hi guys im looking to go into my first requirements meeting. I am just looking for any assistance you guys may be able to offer in terms of best practice methods, probable templates, checklist ...etc. Thanks

This is the International Institute of Business Analysis. Look for the IIBA download which, I believe, will provide you some useful information.

I recommend Karl Wiegers. He has an excellent book, "Software Requirements." It brings you through from basic templates and individual practices to organization-wide issues around requirements gathering.

His Process Impact web site also has some good downloads. If you own the book, the downloads will be much more useful, but they are also useful by themselves:
