I understand that, when you say Finish to Finish, that's the relation between the tasks to be compressed for scheduling. If this understanding is correct,
The Finish to Finish relationship puts the tasks in parallel in general with a perhaps delayed finish on one for the task in the relationship. So, the crashing technique of running tasks in parallel is not really applicable (they are already in parallel), so the best bet would be to cut down in time OR speed up the tasks that are pulling the schedule to the left, by increasing no of resources OR deploying experienced, key resources on such tasks taking longer time.
Hope this helps. Any body has Other views on the subject ?
"Finish to finish" is a type of schedule logic, as Ramakrishna correctly explained.
"Schedule compression" is the work of reducing the total duration of a project. I have never heard them used together like that, though. There are many ways to do it, though. I am not sure which "formula" you might be looking for.
Please provide some more background on what you are trying to do, and I will be happy to help. Saving Changes...
