Hi All,
Any suggestions how can we improve supporting PMO functions as a part of continuous improvement?

PS: We have set processes and standards in place.

Thanks in advance.

Tie it back to metrics and KPIs, Mukunda.

What is the mandate of the PMO and what KPIs are being used to measure whether it is successful? Those should provide a basis for establishing improvement targets.

Generic areas to focus on are:
* Level of perceived satisfaction by your stakeholders & customers
* Value added as a function of your cost of operations

Just to add some information this type of activities belongs to bussiness analysis. You have to perform what is named, in the PMI standard, as "needs analysis" to understand your current situation and the desire situtation in terms of strategy. PMO exists because after defining strategy organizations decide to create a physical business unit (PMO) where to locate all project/program/portfolio related functions. So, what you are looking for, must be defined in terms of solution. I have wrote an article about that but not matter that we use Enteprise Architecture plus Tom Peter´s Seven S model to make "needs analysis".
