I have been putting efforts everyday for three weeks and the score did not increase even by just one number, so back to the topic is that normal? the website was down today and many glitches however, they have done maintenance and looks it is faster now, I thought I will see increase in score number :-) but NULL

I have oscillated around 91-92-93 for months - it seems quite random and doesn't appear to be impacted by anything I do.

I think this is an experiment organized by some disembodied brains in bottles (a la Simpsons) who are seeing how much they can wind up PMs with such pseudo-gamification!

Kiron
Kiron, thanks for your feedback Yeah I noticed that you were hovering around that number I understand your frustration and we share same suffering here but what to do as Andrew said just contribute to the community and don't look at mind games, I liked your comment and here is the first link appear

Riyadh: In the past few weeks, I have seen this question raised multiple times but tried to stay clear and avoided participating in deep discussions for many reasons but here is my honest opinion:

1- The influence is just a number that has no real significance except on this website so this should not be the driver for people to contribute. I am not really sure why many are very concerned about this number.

2- Just to give you a level of comfort, I reassure you that your current influence is very fair. Look at my profile for example:

- Been a member of this community and contributing for many years with around 7,000 contributions.
- Active on daily basis in many ways.
- Hold many certifications of which 4 of them are with PMI.
- Have 6 Volunteer Engagements in the past 2 years.
- Has most discussion thread contributions and second in comments.
- My network is about to reach 100,000 K members.

Yet, taking all that into consideration, my influence is 88 and hasn’t moved a bit since month. It’s just been fixed like that. Your influence of 85 if compared to the number of years you’ve been a member, overall contributions, type of activities and so on is really very good.

I asked once long time ago how this influence algorithim work and did not get a clear answer but one of the points is that it doesn’t evaluate your profile as an individual but it evaluates your profile as compared to all others in this community taking into consideration length of engagement, type of activities, and many other factors.

Hope this will give you some peace of mind my friend.

Rami, Rami my friend thank you for your feedback see you just have proved my point when I was talking about this I wasn't just focused on my score look at your points and Kiron I think it is a concern for so many even if they don't say it here, I felt it for you for Kiron for Kevin, for Sante etc, it is a measurable metrics and we can not say it is of no value why it is there must be for a reason so we just wanted to know the mathematical calculation behind it. what is written in the website to enhance it we're almost doing that and want to do more.
Thanks for your compliment about my score been rocketed in a short period of time.

thanks for feedback, but till the time people are interacting and sharing their knowledge to community it is more worth while than caring about influence score
Mansoor, I appreciate your contribution here looks like that is the case.

First Riyadh, I want to be clear that the following statement isn't thinking of you personally, however, lately I'm inclined to delete this number...there are tons of no-sense discussions, generic comments in blogs, articles or white paper with a sad generic "thank you" that seems that people only copied and paste trough all the post.

I'm wondering what they are trying to accomplish being a headliner, with no webinars, no withe papers, either interesting comments or interesting apportions with downloads or presentations to the site.

First I though that maybe was professional credibility...however credibility isn't like the temperature or velocity the measure of credibility isn’t an objective measure, it's not something that you have or not, because it depends on the others...and how others "rate" you.

After I realized that maybe is cultural how each individual give importance to validation and recognition.

In my case, I year ago I reached as far as I remember the 82-85, I took an screenshot and a few seconds after I realized how non-sense was that, because if I'm here is for learn and give back (as much as I can)...for me personally this number doesn't add value or credibility to my capabilities and skills as project manager.

Riyadh: You are a good member of this community but why would you let this number demotivate you ? It is really insignificant my friend but at the end of the day, it is up to you. Good Luck with your studies.
