How much SLOC (source line of code) does the average ERP implementation require?

I realized there is no exact estimate. I am looking for an estimate or rule of thumb.

Use the 80/20 Rule. I.e. 80% of the functionality will probably fit as is.

ERP's, by definition, are designed to be used and implemented "as is" with most processes in a given business scenario covered as a standard.

I recomment that changes to these standards and the cutting of any lines of code be fully investigated by the PM, BA's and SME's and then signed off by the sponsors before it's agreed.

As for the lines of code, it's almost impossible to give a figure, given the eclectic range of applications they are put to these days. I always recomment "Zero" coding as an opening gambit (this avoids upgrade issues and ongoing maintenance) which sets the stage for a minimal code base as part of the go live package (where this is practical)
