It crosses my mind that sometimes, after achieving certain work related goals, you may want to reward yourself with a vacation or some means to refresh while building the mind.
Some colleagues and I decided to carry out an informal and independent survey.
Have you ever considered the possibility of a PM resort, where Project Managers come to kick back for a while and let their hair down, while physically interacting with other Project Managers from around the globe/region and still staying immersed in the Project Management Culture? Just a thought. What could be the draw backs? Could there be some benefits? Does any model like this currently exist?
What would it take to bring this to fruition if a handful of Business Analysts/ PMs, other professionals put this to test? How long could this take?
In my conception, I envisage a well managed facility, with perhaps a Tennis Court, Golf Course, Lake, Swimming Pools, Lecture and Conference Halls, Cafeteria, Gym, Spa, Project Management Laboratories and Studios; Basically a five star amenity.
Your thoughts on absurdities, contribution of ideas, mental impressions, visualizations, judgement, no matter how random or well concocted would be greatly appreciated. Saving Changes...
Strange but interesting thought Stanley. One drawback could be getting enough PM's to go to the resort to cover the costs or even make a profit. Saving Changes...

I'm not fully sure if I'd like to see other PMs and discuss my daily activities during my vacation :-) Saving Changes...
This is an interesting concept - almost sounds like that "safe zone" hotel in the John Wick movie series where no violence between guests is tolerated :-)
I'm with Pier on this one - when I'm on vacation, I want to keep shop talk to an absolute minimum...

Interesting idea, however I would have to concur in that I would not necessarily want to associate with other PMs while on vacation. Saving Changes...

I would like to do that while on a conference probably but not specifically take a vacation for that because vacation days are very few especially when you’re an employee. Maybe for people in the same region its different as they can do so on a weekend but for people to gather from all over, I am not sure this is a feasible idea but we never know, thats only my opinion. I like the novelty of this idea, but I can't think of any reason why PMs would prefer to vacation with other PMs. If we wanted to stay in the PM environment we'd just give up our vacation time and work instead.
I can't think of any professions whose members would prefer to vacation with other members of their profession - can you? Saving Changes...
Look like international congress where there are activities such as visite local site of interest, some entertainment etc. and conference exchange, networking... so that your other half can attend and enjoy also. Saving Changes...
Interesting however I'm not interested from my point of view, vacations are vacations, and I love to enjoy with family friends or digital and mental disconnection.
We already have the conferences that allow all that without the need to see your peers in a bath suit :) Saving Changes...

Interesting concept but I would prefer to stay away from work while on vacation. Saving Changes...
