If so, how did it go? If not, do you see any benefit in doing so?

Hi Sante,

I prepared Project Plan for my PMP Exam.
That's great Hari. I see you achieved the PMP also so I'm happy the project plan worked for you.

I have not done anything formal, but I always had a plan on my mind and it really worked for me.
You should try it one day Anish and see how it goes. Managing academic/professional qualifications using project management is a good way to go.

I think it is absolutely valuable. I did it for my doctorate. I was asked to provide a project plan and so I did! It made me do the deep dive into what really was expected, when, and when the deadlines were. I was then able to take the research piece and dissertation writing and block it into the timeline. I think it made the whole process easier.
btw - I found out afterwards that my supervisor was expecting only 3 or 4 dates rather than a gantt chart. He didn't really know what to do with it. It was quite funny - but I did finish and on schedule!

Sante -

I've done this for all of my professional credentials but the level of effort and formal documentation was low - usually just identifying a set of activities and milestone dates along with setting a budget and doing some basic risk management.

Kiron
Kiron I did similar plans for my professional credentials but would be interesting for a degree program
