Howdy gang, I'm new here, but I am a PM with 5 years experience and I have been on my own all that time. I typically deal with consulting companies (generally not a good experience, but I don't care about THEM, I want their CLIENTS!)...well, for whatever reason(s), things have been really falling through with them due to their hidesouly poor communication and I think generally they work with low-level technical types of people, as opposed to higher paid Project Managers...
So, my questions to you are this...what resources have you used to obtain clients? What works best for you?
This mostly applies to those of you who are own your own, but I'm very interested in learning how you generate your work. Please share!!!
Best way I've found to find a project management position is via referral from other contacts in your industry. Second is using some of the employment search sites or posting to a job search board. Examples would be Dice.com, Monster.com, Freeagent.com, and MBAFreeAgent.com Saving Changes...

Similar inquiry, as I'm looking for a Colorado based Director of PM position, to effectively implement improved maturity in PM in a step by step manner, perhaps following my Enterprise PMO methods, either globally, nationally, or locally.
I have 19+ years of hands on work in project management, including 4 operating nuclear plants, 2 nuclear plants under construction, global mining projects, D.O.E. Programs/projects, E.P.A. projects, airport projects, Information Technology projects, university guest lecturing, etc., currently at a big IT company, but under-utilized.
Is anyone out there seeking an seasoned open minded pro heavily involved in PMI to run PM in their company? Saving Changes...
