Is it good for a project manager to be risk taker?

Its a Project Managers job to Plan Risk Management. Its her/his role to identify potential risks that may affect the project, positive or negative.

Yes, it is good for Project Managers to exploit or take positive risks, opportunities.

You may have heard the saying, high risk, high reward. Analytical techniques must be used to determine strategic risk rankings of project. When the risk threshold is high, the risks must be taken more seriously.

You should remember that not all risks are negative, and thus, opportunities should be exploited.
