My sister is considering launching her PM career and taking the CAPM. I want to help by offering her my material to study, but it's for an older PMBOK. I'm thinking of buying her some PMBOK 6 material for the PMP, which I'll add to my library when she's done. PMP prep material is still fully applicable for the CAPM exam, right? Saving Changes...
No harm in using PMP prep material based on the Sixth Edition of the Guide but your sister will learn more than is needed to pass the CAPM as the PMP leverages a much broader set of resources. As such, it might be more efficient for her to get a CAPM study guide and/or use a set of CAPM practice exams.

Kiron,
RMC won't have their CAPM for PMBOK 6 ready until sometime in Q4, so she's waiting for that.
Pmbok 6 is the main source and it will be a reference book for her .. no harm at all to learn more. Saving Changes...

I'm not sure if you're yelling or not with all the !!! Yes, the PMBOK 6 and RM's PMP Exam Prep for it are the books I mentioned. RM's CAPM Exam Prep isn't published, yet. In my opinion, RM's is the best book, because it explains why instead of just what and how. Saving Changes...

PMBOK will suffice. However, i would also recommend looking at CAPM prep/boot camps at local community colleges they are very cost effective. Saving Changes...
