Specially for freelancers but also for all sort of practitioners, it is a good practice to keep a log of all projects, which can be then shared with potential hiring organisations.

What type of information do you include in this log? Please share your insights. Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest keeping a track of the following:
- Quantitative metrics: duration, budget, peak team size, # of vendors & performance metrics such as the EVM ones
- Qualitative metrics: What was accomplished and how did the customer/key stakeholders feel?
- Purpose behind the project: Why was it required and a high-level description of the How...

A paper notebook with personal schedule/journal helps me 'to keep track my all priorities' on day-to-day basis. I don't put any confidential data in it to avoid security disaster. This also means no project info' in any artifact outside of project documents.

Yes, I keep a log. Confidential data is kept secured. Like Kiron has mentioned, I have all those details but not much of Performance metrics. I should start having a good amount of performance log too.

Thanks for the list, Kiron.

I have not, though I do tend to keep my resume updated with accomplishments, new skills, and new experience garnered through the efforts of my projects, or keep notes or snippets in a running e-notepad.

Kiron, those are good suggestions.

I don't keep a detailed log. Basically I keep:
- Lessons learned
- Schedule/ Budget
- Kick-off status vs Closure status

In have a list the projects in that I worked, my roll, date, objetives of the projects, organization.
I must sincerely include more details.
Is really very useful.
I had not thought about the importance of that activity.
