Academic studies is one of an Enterprise Environment Factors (EEF) which can influence the process of (11.2 Identify Risks)!
and the same (industry studies of similar projects) is one of (EEF) which can influence the the process of (11.3 Perform Qualitative Risk Analysis)!

My understand Academic studies goes hand by hand with practices of PM.
I wish your contribution and your thought about this issue.
