Hi Aamir, the first I guess is read the "Practice Standard for Project Risk Management ". I'm not the best to guide you but what I've seen is that RMPs begins at this point.

Hi Aamir, Rita's book is a good start and since you just took the PMP test you know how the questions are phrased and that is a big help. The Standards guide is also good, but I definitely recommend some kind of on-line or practical test on the Risk Management section. Your whole test will be on risk management and it gets way down in the weeds so you have to really understand the inputs and outputs of all of the steps in risk management. There are also some additional formulas that you should know how to use because they may end up on the test.

I studied just as hard and as long for the RMP as I did for the PMP and felt that it was in many ways harder than the PMP because of the detail. Also you do have to be able to show that you have the requisite number of hours in just risk management before applying to sit for the exam. This is not to deter you, but just some sage advice. I took the exam in 2012.

I always tell people preparing for the RMP that PMI-RMP Exam Prep by Belinda Fremouw was the book I used. She covered topics that I could not find in the PMBOK but were in the exam.
Others have used different sources, this one worked for me. I did have trouble finding good practice exams. I had taken a class through SimpliLearn. It included several practice exams, but they were not very good. The test in the back of Belinda's book was probably the best of all I found.
I took the test this past February.
From my experience the exam was not that bad. There were several "easy" questions, a few "hard" and a couple of the "trick" questions like we see on the PMP. Many of the questions were situational and there were several that used Monte Carlo analysis which had taken me awhile to grasp.
Besides the basic steps in risk management, make sure you understand the tools used throughout.
Good Luck in your studies.
