Hi Dione,

In case you didn't see my other post:

I wanted to let you know that I landed my first job in project management and it's a perfect fit with my design background: I'll be a Marketing Project Coordinator at Kohl's Coporate in Milwaukee.

Thanks for the support!

Volunteering is effective, but looks like you have done some already. If your current employer accommodates for secondments or there is a possibility to contribute to projects that are currently being delivered within the company, take the opportunity to support and contribute to these projects. This should enable you to demonstrate transferrable skills and experiences to prospective employers. Also if you are currently targeting PM level vacancies, consider PM assistant roles / PM leader roles. It is much easier to progress to PM role from these.

First of all congratulations, colleague

My first job when I have obtained the CAPM credential was PMO especialist. It is a good way to start because you can help less experienced project managers with concepts about project management

Hi Sherry, You may consider offering to help PMs and PMAs on your current project. This is a great way to get PM and PMA experience first. Then when you interview for PM or PMA positions, you can share those accomplishments, as PM experience. Let us know any follow-up questions.
