Expert judgement can be other expert fields as per functional area or technical department to solve any issues related to their specialized. Expert judgments have many types due to their application area, stakeholder, consultant...etc.

Tamer, that's right but sometimes those also have limited knowledge.
Multiple SMEs can brainstorm together and get a solution.
I have seen such scenarios where new enhancements in the product need multiple brainstorming and technical sessions.

Sonali, yes brainstorming until they get dried up.
Sante, I know and you might not believe it this is what really happened I had to call a third SME on Monday arrived next day and spend the whole day & night yesterday, finally we got it going today I took my breath and restored functionality.
Broaden the field to look outside the company - has the issue occurred elsewhere and if so, is there historical data on how it was resolved?

Kiron thanks that approach I already took it after consuming the internal team I started the right process to get the external resources. And it is like you run first to walking clinic just minor prescription then you get a time with your family Dr. then you get referral to specialist as you can't jump directly to specialist

Agree with the above. Multiple experts (though there is a tipping point), external insights, market research, etc.

From what you’ve mentioned, it seems you did not call the right SME’s or enough SME’s that their expertise can cover all issues that you have.

Rami, I have called the right SME but technical issues sometimes goes beyond the SME so we have to form a consulto team to go over the non common issues.

Hi Riyadh
The issue definition, expectations and deliverables were defined and a first SME was hired. A second SME was hired and there remains critical issues that require more brainstorming. My observation is – Is the issue properly and adequately defined and are there issues that require redefinition or escalation known at this time?

Yes Henry the problem has been defined a functionality failure of one asset, trouble shooting the cause and restore its functionality that was the challenge, it was big learning curve I myself is an Engineer so I gave my recommendation of what test must be done and open to hear what other may suggest other tests sometimes few tests might be deceiving and have to go to multiple test and validation to reach to the right diagnosis.

Agree with Rami. Just one aspect, may be the issue takes some more time to come up with solution.

There is a chance that each SME knows only his/her expert area, but no one has the overall picture.
