PMI's definition of a project is: "a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. The temporary nature of projects indicates that a project has a definite beginning and end."

It would be hard to say the universe is temporary, and we have no idea if it is unique, nor can we prove it has a definite beginning and end. So, is the universe a project, or operations (business as usual)?

Interesting.

Who is the PM?

Is it temporary, possibly? Some theory talk about a retracting phase after the expansion.
Duration is unclear, but the scale is incredible.

But we are more at a philosophical level. ;-)

Vincent, yes there is a retraction theory. But some of those retraction theorists believe that once the retraction is realized, another big bang will occur. So that is more cyclical. If another big bang doesn't occur, then I guess it's temporary (although an extremely long temporary state). On the question of a PM, that would depend on one's religious beliefs. I am definitely one that believes there is no PM for the universe.
