As all you know there is a "button" to report one discussion, a months ago all the community members helped to report all those spammers trying to sell plumbing spare parts...
However from my point of view, the website should allow to choose between a few options...when I report a discussion or an answer I would like to be able to choose something as:
- Duplicated
- Non appropiated
- ...
Others?
What do you think about having a few options to choose? Which options will you add? Saving Changes...
I've never reported a discussion but does the option allow you to enter some comments as to why you reported it?
I think I'd prefer a mandatory text field vs. a drop-down list to give the reporter a chance to justify their actions.
The other reason for this is that when the community moderator lets the poster know that their post was deleted or moved they can copy & paste some of the justification info from the reporter...

Kiron,
No, nowadays there is no option.
I don't like the mandatory field, as IT geek I use to skip this field only with "." when I don't want to give more detail :) However after a drop-down possibility will be nice to have the option for a free text with explanations.
Only for your information, I reported a discussion post...instead of click the "replay" button...PMI called me in the next 48 hours to check with me.
Then, if someday you'll decide to report someone, bear in mind that maybe they call you to check what is the matter.
Also someone reported one of my blog entries that I updated after PMI call.

Of course it is better to do it the way you mentioned Mayte - This site needs some serious improvements - So many things that are still the same from since I joined like no ability to edit your comments (On articles or blogs), no ability to Remove a connection request you sent by mistake, PM Challenge Questions Updates, NOD's Update, and so so so many other things.
Ive been told that PMI are working on priorities but been hearing this since more than a year ...... so I stopped sending comments for improvement because nothing is happening. The community is growing and so must the site !

Rami,
Thank you for your comments, I would like to gather the nice to have for this report button to send a request to the web admins...I'm wondering if maybe I provide a detailed "nice to have" will help and encourage them to have this option.
Yes, agree with you there are a lot of room for improvement...but maybe gathering good requirements we can accomplish something.

Ive done that multiple times but in vain.
What we can do is put a question on the discussion thread to see what changes woild members like to see. I will do that amd then we can compile a new list.
They need a "block" button that's for sure! And that block button should stop notifications in this website from the person blocked AND any email notifications that come from that person's posts in any threads, blogs, articles etc. Saving Changes...

Spammers must be reported and blocked. I like the idea of reporting as is. If you want to explain your opinion further, then just drop few wards and share it it for others to understand. Saving Changes...
"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons."
