It'll be great if we can meet other community members in our network, while visiting their cities. Please share, if you know how to download list of members and their location in a spreadsheet/text file.

I don't think that's possible, let's wait for others to comment. I have met few local chapter members with whom I am connected here, at regional meet.

I do not think you can do so, you can't even filter your connections to see who is where unless you go through the profiles one by one.

Hello all,

This is not information we would ever make available. We strive to protect the privacy of all of our members and would not make that information accessible within the community.

If you see that a member is part of a local chapter of a city you will be visiting and have built a relationship with them during your time here within the community, reach out via the inbox feature and see if they are interested in meeting you while you're in the area.

However, I would discourage going through your entire network and sending messages. Building relationships takes time and effort and I would only reach out to those you have already taken the time to do so with if you plan to be in their area.

Makes lots of sense and it is definitely the way to go. It took me years to do so - I agree with Marjorie and members information privacy is of ultimate importance.

Thanks Marjorie. Great advice.

It's always good to reach out via the inbox feature. It worked for me, and I noticed people are equally excited to meet and greet at chapter events.

Marjorie - Thanks for sharing concern about privacy. It is a good safeguard to restrict mass contact/emails.

However, I do see some situations where members would like to meet their network contacts to develop close relationship. Now, for example, certain members { not me :) } with huge contact list would like to meet their network contacts during Los Angeles PMI Global conference. At current features of site, it's huge effort to identify and contact ahead of time to meet his/her LA-based contacts.

But, I do agree with your concern that such functionality can be put to misuse.

Marjorie did a good point, I will love to block all those team members that send me spam or add me in a distribution list asking for something.

I don't imagine many people would be keen to meet a stranger who contacts them out of the blue just because both people are members of the same enormous website. If you really want to meet PMs while traveling, just visit the nearest PMI chapter. I can certainly provide you with that list of names.

Fully agree! I will not meet someone that ask me here or via other professional social media. Safety First!

I wonder if people really take time to look into connection profiles or it's just the connection number that matters?
