I honestly haven’t seen any gender discrimination in the companies and projects I’ve worked in. With the Regards to cultures, I’ve seen this when I worked I noticed the gulf region. There may not be implicit or open gender discrimination in many Western countries, but it is the unconscious biases which can still cause harm. Certain industries are less prone to this (e.g. IT) but others might suffer from it more.
Mindfulness is one way to avoid it, but so is embracing diversity and soliciting feedback.
