Does listing PMP have a tendency to "scare" away smaller contracting companies? Recently, I haven't been contacted by smaller entities. I am actively seeking opportunities, and want consideration for all opportunities. Any advice, or opinions are greatly appreciated.

I would think that any sized company would want a PMP if possible.

Agree. There should be no such thing as 'overqualified'.

Ive been working in Construction for so many years and PMP has always been an asset be it for small or large companies. I do not think putting PMP will scare small companies.

What might scare them is the perception that a PMP-certified practitioner will bring a heavy, "one size fits all" approach to managing projects. Our job is to cure them of that perception...

I haven't worked in Construction, but I would think that industry would definitely want a Project Manager with a PMP given the costly impact of schedule delays and mistakes.
Perhaps smaller companies assume someone with a PMP would want a higher salary than they wish to pay.
