Active listening is your sharpest tool to find the 'why behind the why' of your sponsor, stakeholders, and team members. They all have this burning question in the back of their mind: "What's in it for me?"

There are also a few characteristics of active listening :-
- Be in the moment
-Put Aside distractions.
- Ask question to make it clear.
-Stop your mind from jumping

I still remember one statement which saying
" We have ONE tongue to speak and TWO ears to listen"

Great answer Mansour, I completely agree. I've found it's to my benefit as a pm to make these efforts, especially when there is a technical issue I'll need to understand.
