It will drive the mundane tasks we all do as Project Managers to be obsolete so that we can focus on the higher-level strategic value if we stay on top of the trend. It is an opportunity as predicting benefits realization shall become concrete.

A tool can be opportunity or a threat, it depends on the usage/intention of operator. The concern of perceived harm (intended as well as unintended) gets amplified in case of AI, as human controls will be somewhat limited.
Such concerns can be addressed by real-time auditing tool (or system of checks & balances) to help operator 'manage direction' of executions by such autonomous AI entity.
Consider AI as an opportunity and as well as a threat.

I am not concerned, I am rather looking forward to the AI tools that can take over boring tasks like resource leveling, task reminders, project reporting, status meetings, etc. Then we project managers will have more time on risk management, proactive and strategic thinking, team building, etc. Saving Changes...

There was a speech this year in PMI Congress in Los Angeles called "Artificial Intelligence and Project Management: Beyond Human Imagination!".
It generated many discussions. Some people see it as an opportunity to automatize tasks with no value and focus on leadership and strategy and other people see it as a threat if we can have autonomous AI project managers by 2030.
