One of the biggest challenges appears to be digital transformation, as the failures far exceed the successes. Part of that seems to be a lot of confusion as to how to blend a Systems Engineering approach, with the new agile trend. It tends to illustrate the difference between velocity and speed...velocity has a direction.

If you look at Office 365 projects, the biggest struggle is around adoption, much more than technology.
As such, getting the right sponsorship for such projects (hint: not your IT leader in general) is key to striving towards success. If the sponsorship cannot be influenced, then stakeholder management will be crucial.
