PMI Voulenteering

I didn't try to be volunteer but i want to ask to who is made PMI volunteer before? Does anyone? Do you recommend me to be volunteer? or it's based on my local chapter? I know everything is shown in PMI website but I am happy if I listen your recommendation!!!!
