I didn't try to be volunteer but i want to ask to who is made PMI volunteer before? Does anyone? Do you recommend me to be volunteer? or it's based on my local chapter? I know everything is shown in PMI website but I am happy if I listen your recommendation!!!! Saving Changes...

You can volunteer at your local chapter or look for remote opportunities on the PMI site. My view on volunteering is that you, as volunteer benefits as much, if not more than the organization you volunteer at. So I would definitely advise that you do it. Even volunteering to be a mentor within your own organization is great. I have volunteered at professional bodies such as PMI and IIBA all my life but I also do volunteer work at charity organizations that have no relationship to my profession. GO got it! Tamer, I do support Anton's input and opinion. You can check available volunteer opportunities are your VRMS Page: https://vrms.pmi.org/ Saving Changes...
I'd recommend what Rami said. Make sure that your vrms profile is up to date with the right information and tagged on the right alerts and then you'll be notified of any vacancies that might fit your skills set.
It's not really about being recommended as such. It's more about the merit of your application and relevant profile. Saving Changes...

Chinyere you are correct that there are some requirements that must be met but this is the case for any volunteering positions. Even with charity organizations, I had to go for interviews to perform manual labor ;). It is needed to make sure that you a) want to do it for the right reasons and b) that you are qualified if the position requires some specific skill. Working for nothing does not mean doing a bad job. The bit of effort is worth it.

Thank you Anton! Volunteering has always been my passion. I make it a habit to volunteer at any organization I belong to. I guess I've never had to go through a similar process before, but I will make out some time to fill out the application. Thanks for your encouraging words :)
Those are questions that you might want to direct to someone at PMI. I think they ask for the questions so that they can know more about you, your justification for wanting the role etc. I like that I'm able to tell them more about me and my motivations Saving Changes...

Volunteering withih PMI is fairly straightforward using VRMS. Don't stop there, there are many opportunities in your local community to practice and enhance your project management skills. And, yes, you can still claim the time for PDUs. Saving Changes...

Tamer,
I highly recommend volunteering. As suggested by so many here, VRMS lists all PMI available volunteering opportunities on both a local Chapter level as well as Global. My suggestion is to start with your local Chapter bearing in mind that not all chapter related volunteer opportunities are advertised via VRMS. My personal experience volunteering is very fulfilling, as it enables me to give back to the community, network, learn and mentor. It can be your parallel career path! Go for it, register for VRMS alerts now and attend your local Chapter events. Saving Changes...
