As a Project Manager or an Agile Scrum Master an MBWA will server you just as well if not more than an MBA.
Let’s define what are MBA and MWBA:
MBA - Masters of Business Administration.
MBWA – Management By Wandering Around.
?
In MBWA the emphasis involves where you wondering around throughout to check randomly the status of ongoing work.
As you pass by someone say at the water cooler. Talk to them. They might provide a true reason why certain things are delayed. They might be more willing to open up since they are not in front of a group. Before they might not have the courage to point the finger at the true cause of an issue. Now one on one they might.
?
This type of leadership style has been utilized for a long while. Even through the original term has been traced to executive at Hewlett Packard for management practices in the 1970s. The invention of this type of management style is attributed to Abraham Lincoln. When he would informally inspect the Union Army troops in the early part of the American Civil War.

It does work , a very quick way of touching base, if you are always busy in the office, once a while is fine ,however too much, disturbs the operation staff and they will have low confidence since you will be undermining their trust
