With a centralized hub for projects; accessible, organized, and up to date, anyone with the location URL can view. This can be any number of platforms, but what's important is the dissemination of data.

I would also suggest to send info blasts with regular updates to the relevant stakeholders. For example, when I am sending an important status update, I add all relevant stakeholders, and my manager in the loop as well. I use a shared location for all project documents, and actively advertise it to all participants and relevant parties. Additionally, we have TV screens where we could advertise different success stories.
It is important however, not to overwhelm the audience, as too many and too often would lead to people simply ignoring your invites or emails.

Finally, lessons learned is a powerful tool, especially when new projects are being initiated. A quick session with the new project team where an overview of lessons learned from a relevant previous project is provided, could really bring the attention to past successes, and help the new team manage their project more effectively.

You question can be answered in some respects but here comes from project management. Activities must be included into the project schedule. Regular publication of project progress will show the activities then they will be visible. Some people forget to include project management activities for example.

Individually, be consistent in the manner we work. Follow closely to schedules in performing project reports and other tasks. When communicating with large teams across various departments, generally use common language, as some members may not fully understand technical jargons. Where technical terms need to be used but the audience is not familiar with them, do provide brief definitions and internal/external links for further understanding if needed.

In functional/departmental and organizational level, may discuss to outline the lateral and vertical communication flows to uncover any occurring or potential bottlenecks that restrict the flows. Work on the root causes and viable solutions.

Doing project tasks with consistency and quality, communicating with clarity will improve one's work visibility in large teams across various departments.
