Project roadmap

What software do you recommend for planning project roadmap and managing projects at the same time? Eventually 2 systems that would fully integrate.

MS Project is a good tool for managing projects but it’s not a good tool for creating a project roadmap and collecting requirements.

Jira is good for creating a roadmap and collecting requirements but not good for managing projects.

The problem is that using 2 systems that don’t integrate creates extra work in manually reentering data from Jira to MS Project.

How did you solve this issue?

To be honest I never used project roadmap. I always use solution roadmap where project or program is just a component inside the solution. And I use it no matter the approach/life cycle I use. So, if you direct me to project roadmap definition it will be great for me to learn something new.

I would look into Microsoft's new Road Map Tool that is built into Project for the Web. It is very good, and rolling out to most organizations.

Try Asana. Much easier to use compared to MS Project, and very affordable. There is a plug-in to Asana called Instagantt that will automatically create a Gantt chart for you.

Does anyone have any good reference material on jira roadmap projects and how best to set this up for higher level portfolio to program level tracking?
