Hello Nahid,
first of all, you should read through the PMP Credentials Handbook by PMI; that should answer most of your questions and should also deny your confusion.
I do also have a lot of tips and recommendations for the PMP preparation itself; e.g., I have created a PMP preparation program which works like your very own study plan, but since we are not allowed to post external links (others than PMI or pm.com) I will send you that information as a private note.
Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions that may occur.
regards,
Markus

The way I did it is different from others. I started studying first. I had a study buddy and we met weekly. We did one chapter of Rita's book a week. About half way through, we both took a break and did our application. I was lucky because someone shared their application with me so I could see what level of detail was required, etc. Once submitted it takes a few weeks to be approved. Once we finished our self study, I found a boot camp class to take. I scheduled to take the exam about 3 weeks after boot camp. I needed the boot camp to prepare for how to take the test and to answer any remaining questions I had about the material. Throughout this entire process, I also had a pmp quiz app on my phone. I would do 10-20 questions a day, sometimes more. For the 3 weeks between bootcamp and the test, I did several full 200 question practice exams.
I started the process in June and tool the test in December. I wanted to take my time studying and learning the material. As I learned, I also tried to incorporate the tools into my daily work. For example, we never used WBS. After reading about them, I created WBS and WBS dictionary for some of my projects. I always learn better by doing it.
Good luck!

Wow, it sounds great Dinah.
Thanks for sharing experiences.
I have a busy full time job, takes forever to create my profile. really want to go through the profile first then focus on study and exam.
Assuming profile, in this case, is the application?
Like my friend, Riyadh states, the application is its own effort. Focus on getting through that and submit. I would also suggest informing those managers whom you reference ahead of time in case there is a need to supply additional proof (audit). If the application is rejected, simply update and resubmit.
In my preparation, I began studying once approved so to have full focus. I also used the same span as you plan; 5-6 months. Good luck!
Andrew thank you my friend for supporting my comments Saving Changes...

I actually did not use Rita's exam simulator. I wanted to get a variety of practice exams. So I searched the internet for all of the free exams. I also have a couple of practice exams from my bootcamp class. Practice exams just teach you how to take the test. You will never find any of these questions on the actual exam. After take a practice exam, I went through all of my incorrect answers and made sure that I understood why I chose the one I did and why I should have shoes the correct one. This helped me adjust my thinking to the "PMI way".
Well I guess my colleagues here provided some valuable information but if you need anything else let us know. Good Luck Nahid
I will Rami,

I assume when you refer to profile - you mean the PMP Exam application? The exam application takes some time, and scheduling the exam needs some coordination too.
If there is only Paper based testing in your area, you may have to work towards an exam date coinciding with the test date. Paper based tests are on scheduled days only, unlike Computer based testing that can be scheduled anytime based on your appointment at the testing center.
Having said that, It makes sense starting your application only once you are 75%+ prepared for the exam. There is a one year timer from the time your application is approved to complete and pass the exam. You do not want to spend that time while you are still studying. The studying and preparation can take 3 months to 8 months, and if you have apply early, you'll lose out on that time of the year.
