As we approach the end of 2018 and look forward to 2019, project managers, change makers and leaders, what are the top 3 ethical issues that we need to be prepared for? Saving Changes...

What a great discussion. From my point of view I would expect more focus on handling data and privacy. Data misuse in order to generate profits seemed to be on the rise to me. I know we often sign agreements which we hardly read and I consider that unfair because people are not explicity informed what happens when they sign up for portals, electronic tools etc. nowadays so many providers require you to use electronic access, e.g. healthcare. But are my data safe?
Thank you Lenka. The Australian Health Record had lots of Australians "opting out" in order to keep their data private. Is its safe? Is it secured? will it be shared with my employer in the future? will it be shared with insurance companies ? The Government tried its best to provide assurance and address these questions. Not to answer the question
My biggest concern is with a global trend of declining values, and the increased social acceptance and unspoken approval of such behavior. Not to say it is all bad, but good values, and respect is becoming more of an exception than the norm.
Thank you John! Unfortunately, I agree with you! I look at what's happening in Australia with one Royal Commission after the other exposing the unfair and disrespectful treatments of banks and financial institutions clients, the aged care industry .. Why can't people get it right from the start? Is a lack of empathy for the other person at the core of this? Are profits and "getting away with bad behaviours" becoming the main objective? and what can we do to change that? Saving Changes...
I think the most important issue is to show, end racism and give opportunities to others. Saving Changes...

Great discussion in this thread! From my experience in my most recent industry (manufacturing):
1) Companies must make safety their #1 priority. Safety of their workers, safety of their operations, and the safety of their products. Safety policies must be proactive, aimed at prevention. All project managers can agree on this point, yet work places and news reports are full of accidents and disasters.
2) Workers should be treated fairly. They should be compensated fairly for their work, as determined by the work they do, their level of experience, and their level of education (what race they are, how many children they have, whether or not they are married, what gender they are, etc., should have no impact on their pay). Workers should be treated with respect and provided with adequate training and equipment to do their work safely. Workers have the right to report safety concerns without fear of retaliation.
3) I have a feeling Corruption is going to be getting much, much worse this year. Saving Changes...
