Dinah -
I have changed my employee this year - after working almost 22 years for my old one! - and I can tell, it was the best decision I have made for a long time!
I am sure you will make a similar experience and I wish you all the best, therefore!
Regards,
markus
Thank you.
It is always scary/stressful to change jobs, especially after being in the same one for 11 years.
I just need to take a deep breath and jump. Saving Changes...

Hello Dinah: It sounds like you are at a crossroads and looking ahead to map out your course. The company I work for is in the midst of a merger with change being a frequently used word in the office. I wonder what 2019 will bring for me and my career, but I find you to wanting to take charge of your destiny. Please keep us posted on where you land and what opportunities you receive!
I have been through mergers in the past. Basically it is a wait and see situation. Each time the initial merger went ok. The first 6 months there were no major changes. Then you started to see the new direction of the company. At this point you will decide if you want to go in that same direction or move on. Saving Changes...

I don't have recent experience to apply for the PMP, so I'm planning for 2019 to be my entry back into project management. I'll be starting with the CAPM exam in the first quarter and hope to find an opportunity.

I plan to complete my PfMP certification, and I also need to get serious about building out my consulting business (in my spare time, outside of my day job)! After years of giving back to the PM community through my chapter and mentoring, and having learned so much from other mentors that I've had, it's time for me to start applying that knowledge through some focused training classes and seminars through my small business.

I think it is time for me to look for a new job. I have been feeling stagnant for awhile. The past year +, I have focused on certifications and marketing myself. Now it is time to move on. Depending how this goes, I may also look to adding a PMI-PBA certification later on, or if I find a job with a PMO, I may go for the COBIT certification. I am keeping an open mind right now and seeing where the universe takes me.
Hi Dinah, good luck with the new job search! Saving Changes...
