I recommend revealing yourself to the gantthead.com audience, and letting us know where you are with your research.

There is so much in the area of certifications:
* All the international certifications available (PMI, IPMA, Aussie, etc.)
* Barriers to becoming certified
* Educational value of each cert
* Monetary value of each cert (bonus or salary)
* Reasons to get the certification
* Comparison of the different certs available
* Whether the certifications make project management a "profession"

I could go on and on. Let us know who you are, what the focus of your research is, and what you have so far. I am sure many of us can point you to new resources.

I will start with one core book for serious research in this area: "The Professionalization of Project Management" by Dr. Zwerman, Dr. Thomas, and Haydt. It is about more than just certifications, but it incorporates a lot of useful information about them.

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better, Anonymous!
