One thing is Known- the change. But it's unknown how it will be- so we need to plan our projects for the "known unknown". Change" is the driving force behind the need for equipping employees with updated knowledge. Rate of change of technology over the last decade was phenomenal which again is a factor for "generation gap". It's really debatable now whether technology or demand is the driving force behind business strategies

Yes, I think so. Any change calls for ensuring we keep up to it provided we want to. I do feel it is a great opportunity for learning.

Hard to set a benchmark for current level of change and also for the near-term projected change, but yes, change is expected. Yes, Change is one of the factor driving us to learn on continuous basis. None would be interested to stay in the past. He needs to pay the price (continuous learning in this case) and move to upgraded future.

Continuous learning always was a reason for success and survival. And especially learning in different areas, industries, techniques, behaviors, culture. Travel and meeting other humans helps.

The accelerating pace of change is only one contributor to this - globalization and increased ability to source skills is another driver forcing us to remain competitive via ongoing learning but not just through formal courses.

I would hope there was always a demand for continuous learning. But agreed, as things become more and more dynamic, there is more of a spotlight on it.

In spite of the disruption created by cloud computing and globalization, only continuous learning can favor the unceasing emerging of new technologies and vice versa. Between change and learning, I'd rather believe that there is an interaction like a pair of scissors.

Companies today are not standing still, they are constantly evolving and seeking talent that has skills to take them into the future. Whether it’s a webinar, a formal class or a PMI chapter meeting presentation, any form of learning is a critical component in staying relative and competitive in today’s market. Any company or individual that is not learning forward is doomed to obsolescence.
