At the risk of being a know-it-all, I will offer an opinion that might be a learning experience on multiple sides. I myself have also written and deleted multiple posts on the subject, in part because the initial question includes multiple warning signs that it *might* not be genuine.
It is a very non-specific complaint pointed at apparently many non-specific people which can put readers on the defensive thinking they might be the point of the complaint. Other well meaning posters are also likely to try and assist bringing more responses from a different angle. This is exactly what on-line "trolls" often do to as a "shot across the bow" to elicit a response from as many people as possible. If that is not the intent, which I hope it is not, be aware that it can be perceived as such. A more effective approach might be to point out specific behaviors regarding perceived lack of respect and how those behaviors impact the feelings of others. That is more actionable by those who don't wish to cause offense.
I absolutely agree that we must be respectful of each other, and that language barriers and communication through text only can make it difficult to understand the true intent of the writer as many others described above. As professionals we often form strong opinions on subjects we have worked for many years. I don't think we need to defer or apologize for disagreeing every time there is a difference of opinion, but it does help to be mindful of the perspectives brought by other posters. Saving Changes...
I know that this site is the interaction of the specialists, however, Georgia Harris is right, one has to do to know the knowledge richer and as some say you have to be resilient before these attitudes of the members that is not only know-it-all , if not that in some cases it is of contempt towards ideas and concepts that coincide with what they did, know or believe about.
The value demonstrated by Georgia Harris is worthy of consideration and thanks, being professionals and experts in the field at PMI, but we are not perfect and since then not everything we sell as planned, I recommend a touch of humility that offers knowledge.

Interesting discussion indeed for a new year!!.
Why can't it be viewed from another angle?
Studies show that 90% of what we learn is, when we teach (students always believe that teachers know-it-all). So when everyone pretend that they know everything, they are actually learning a lot. Saving Changes...

Interesting question...
Because you don't want to show off your weaknesses. I feel you should be willing to learn at any age, in any designation.
If you act like "know-it-all", you will not be able to learn Saving Changes...
Some people act as they know it all! That is their problem.
For the respect of view and opinion, I agree that interaction must remain respectful of other ideas and opinions. We all have to protect that kind of respect here. Saving Changes...
I think those who go beyond their individual learning and pretend to be a "know all" are actually practicing their aspirations/goals and trying to get them vetted out on this site from this group. I agree that we must remain respectful of others ideas an opinion and learn from the perspectives that they bring to your collection/learning/goal. Saving Changes...

I believe that this questions is related to certain peers that answer to almost ALL questions that are posted on this forum. Although some might see this as "OK, again this guy who knows it all", for others - amongst which I include myself - their inputs are well usually well illustrated and helpful.
Another topic is that the tone of the comments can sometimes be unnecesserily arrogant. Saving Changes...
Discussion, debate and sometimes "head butting" are part of life, and through it we can achieve better solutions, sharpen existing ones and evolve through it... In Portuguese, there's a saying that roughly translates to "dogs bark, but the caravan goes through". Eventhough I'm not calling anyone a dog (it's a popular expression), don't listen to such barks, move your caravan through! Saving Changes...

Georgia, I can't add anything that my colleagues here haven't already said quite eloquently, except that I sincerely hope that I haven't been one of "those people." Saving Changes...
